As long as you have a reasonable level of fitness I can get you out on an adventure somewhere beautiful.
Mountain days can involve a lot of time on feet with some steep ups and downs, but there are so many brilliant options in the South Lakes we could tailor the day to make sure it's the right level for you. And there are also some great routes on easier going trails among the mountains that can be just as rewarding as a summit or high ridge.
If you're concerned about your fitness, or have any additional needs or concerns, just drop me a line and we can talk about finding an adventure to suit you.
I will share a full kit list when you book. But if you have walking boots or shoes with good grip, decent quality waterproofs (because it is the Lake District!), and space in your backpack for personal medication and equally essential snacks, then you have what you need to get out in the fells with me.
For a navigation session you should bring your own compass. Much better you learn with your own. If you're going to buy one I suggest the Silva Expedition 4 - shop around for a good deal.
My favourite places to walk are around the Duddon Valley, the Coniston Fells, and the Elterwater and Langdale area. See more info on these places here.
But I get out all across the Lake District, and there are great walking options from Eskdale, Ambleside, and Wasdale - including the Scafell range. So if there's something specific you're interested in just let me know.
I will advise you on the best parking spot for the adventure you've decided on. We'd meet there to check in on kit and make sure the plan for the day still works for everyone.
First we'd try to reschedule for another date.
If that's not possible, I'd provide a refund if you give at least 14 days notice. For later cancellations I'd provide a 50% refund.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice though I'm afraid I don't offer any refund or reschedule.

It's still possible to get out and enjoy a day in the fells, or a navigation session, in less than perfect weather. So in rain or cloud your adventure would still go ahead, but I'd suggest some ways we could adapt plans to make sure it's still an enjoyable day for you. I have lots of options up my sleeve!
In the case of seriously bad weather that means we can't get out on the hill at all for safety reasons, I would offer to reschedule or provide a full refund.
No, but under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. And if you are considering a mountain day with very young children, let me know and we can discuss what's most suitable.
Yes! And I applaud your attention to detail.
