Join me for a fun navigation skills session
I'm a qualified NNAS navigation tutor, with experience working with complete beginners through to competent navigators who want to sharpen their skills.
My navigation sessions are fun, easy-going and tailored to the needs of my group. It's all about helping you get the skills you want, and things you'll find useful when you head out on your own. So you can have even better adventures and feel confident being safe and self-sufficient in the hills.
So whoever you are, if you want to improve your navigation, get in touch now.
We start by meeting at a cafe to talk through maps, apps, and some of the theory. As well as chatting about your skills and what you want to achieve.
Based on that we'd hit the trails and fells to get lots of practice. Visiting some beautiful places and having snack stops and beautiful views along the way.
Just a compass! Better you learn with your own. If you're going to buy one I suggest the Silva Expedition 4 - shop around for a good deal.
I provide printed maps for the area we will be working in. Feel free to also bring your own OS or Harveys maps along.
Then it's the same as any other outing. I will provide a full kit list for the day, but as long as you have suitable shoes, layers and a bag for personal items and food, you won't need any other special equipment.
